Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German actress on television and film famous for her performance in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra was the sole daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At the age of sixteen, she had been offered a variety of television roles including the lead role in the film Downfall Youth without Youth Control. Following her highly acclaimed performance in the TV film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went into other notable characters like Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge in Downfall. The film was nominated for an Oscar and was a critical as well as commercial great success. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are two other Oscar nominees featuring the divas. Alexandra has been involved in numerous notable national and international projects throughout her career. These include British biographical film Control as well as The Dust of Time as along with the French history mini-series Napoleon. She has also been a juror at the Transylvania International Film Festival as well as the Cannes Film Festival.
